🖥️ How to play!
-
Firstly, you will need to define the items that you want students to put on their list. (i.e. this could be best Tourist Destinations, key leaders in WW2 etc.)
-
Get your students to access the Tier List link and ask them to create their items that you've brainstormed. They can either have text or images - your choice!
-
Remind students that any text they create or images they upload, all of these will appear in the "Unranked Items" section at the bottom.
-
Now that your students have created the items they are ranking and they are stored in the 'Unranked Items', it's time for them to sort into the tiers (S through F).
-
For every item placed, students should click the Message Icon to write a short defense of their ranking. This provides the qualitative data for assessment.
- Once students have finished, get them to 'Review and Export' and upload their work.

💡Teacher tips!
🎬 Setup tips!
-
Define what each tier represents before starting (e.g., S = Most Impactful, F = Least Relevant).
-
In the past, I have let students find images that they think best represent the topics that need ranking
-
Let students add their own as well, creates more engagement.
-
The justification is key - ensure students justify why they are putting them in the different tiers.
-
TIME: 20+ Minutes (really depends on the number of topics and how much writing/research you get them to do!)
-
Before you get students to access this activity, make sure you have worked out the topics that they will be sorting through.
